Author's Bio

I was born and raised in New York City in a working-class family. After earning a doctorate in English at Stony Brook University, I got a tenure-track appointment at Goucher College. There I taught creative and academic writing, contemporary American literature, and gender studies. Now retired, I live in New York City.
