Author's Bio

Sharon Fish Mooney is the author of Bending Toward Heaven: Poems After the Art of Vincent van Gogh (Wipf and Stock/Resource Publications, 2016), and editor of A Rustling and Waking Within (OPA Press, 2017), an anthology of ekphrastic poetry on art located in Ohio museums. She won the inaugural Frost Farm Prize for metrical poetry.  Her poems have appeared in various journals including Rattle, RUMINATEFirst ThingsModern AgeThe LyricThe Lost CountryString Poet, The Ekphrastic Review, The Evansville Review and several anthologies.  Sharon was awarded an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award (2018) to focus on ekphrastic poetry and translations of French artist and poet Jules Breton. A nurse and former caregiver, Sharon is also the author of Alzheimers: Caring for Your Loved One, Caring for Yourself (Lion Books, 2013).  She teaches nursing research courses online for Regis University, Denver, CO and Indiana Wesleyan.
