Born in Jordan in 1974 to a Jordanian father and a Czech mother; Rabadi and her family immigrated to the United States in 1978. She recently published her debut short story collection, Peter's Moonlight Photography and Other Stories. A graduate of Smith College, she has been published in over twenty periodicals including The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, and Fiction (2003 short story finalist.) Rabadi was made a Fellow in the Arts by the Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership and has received a Vogelstein Foundation writing grant for travel to Jordan to conduct field research for her next novel. Additionally, she has been awarded a writing residency at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology near Portland, Oregon and a grant from the Illinois Arts Council. She recently completed her first novel which is partially set in the Middle East. She is continuing to build the 501 (c) (3) nonprofit she founded, Global Alliance of Artists, which utilizes art and creativity to solve social problems.
