Matthew Nienow lives in Port Townsend, Washington with his wife and sons, where he works as a mental health counselor. His new book, If Nothing, will be published by Alice James in January 2025.

Nienow holds an MFA in Poetry from the University of Washington, an AOS in Traditional Smallcraft from the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College.
