Leah Zani, PhD, researches and writes on the social impact of war. She is the author of Bomb Children: Life in the Former Battlefields of Laos (Duke 2019), a hybrid work of poetry and ethnography; and Strike Patterns: Lives After a Secret War, an ethnographic novel forthcoming from Redwood Press. Two of the poems featured in Bomb Children have won poetry prizes from the Society for Humanistic Anthropology. Her articles and poems have appeared or will soon appear in Kenyon Review Online, Consequence Magazine, American Anthropologist, Cultural Anthropology, Environmental Humanities, Somatosphere, Platypus, Los Angeles Review of Books and Tikkun Magazine, among others. She is the poetry editor at Anthropology and Humanism, and serves on the Executive Board of the Society for Humanistic Anthropology. She currently holds the Human Rights Seat on the Advocacy Committee (MPAAC) of the American Anthropological Association.
