Al Markowitz is a poet and essayist. He is also the editor of the Blue Collar Review, journal of progressive working class literature. He has had poetry published in journals and papers including Pemmican, the Back Bear Review, Veer Magazine, Struggle, the Red Lantern and other venues. His poetry is influenced by Jazz, the poets he loves and publishes and by social realism, shaped and honed in the rigors of the working class experience.
