Calabash International Literary Festival [1]

The Calabash International Literary Festival will be held from May 23 to May 25 at the Jack Sprat restaurant and bar in the fishing village of Treasure Beach, Jamaica. Programming includes author readings, panels, and live music events. Participating writers include poets Mary-Alice Daniel, Caleb Femi, Kimiko Hahn, Thabile Makue, Mahtem Shifferaw, and Danez Smith; poet and fiction writer Michael Ondaatje; poets and memoirists Jason Allen-Paisant and Safiya Sinclair; fiction writers Mateo Askaripour, Hernan Diaz, Diana McCaulay, Ian McEwan, and Zadie Smith; creative nonfiction writer Tao Leigh Goffe; and memoirists Alexandra Fuller and Sheryl Lee Ralph. Participating publishing professionals include agent Margaret Riley King (William Morris Endeavor), editors Tanya Batson Savage (Blue Banyan) and Johnny Temple (Akashic Books), and publisher Sharmaine Lovegrove (Dialogue Books). Lodging is available in nearby hotels, guest houses, villas, and cottages; the cost for a room ranges from $30 to $500 per night. All events are free and open to the public.
