The 11th annual Chuckanut Writers Conference, cohosted by Whatcom Community College and Village Books in Bellingham, Washington, was held online from June 21 to June 27. The conference featured breakout sessions in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as keynote addresses, craft talks, author panels, and a faculty reading. The faculty included poets Anastacia-Reneé, Casandra López, Priscilla Long, and Jory Mickelson; fiction writers Erica Bauermeister, Omar El Akkad, Laura Kalpakian, Kami Westhoff, and Kristen Millares Young; and creative nonfiction writers Lyanda Lynn Haupt, Sonora Jha, and Tiffany Midge. Participating publishing professionals included marketing consultant Alice B. Acheson and editor Craig Popelars (Tin House). The cost of the conference was $199 ($99 for students) and includes admission to the opening and closing keynote addresses, two craft talks, four breakout sessions, one author panel, and the faculty reading. Registration was available for additional sessions ($20), master classes ($50 to $65), marketing consultations ($40), or pitch sessions ($10).
