The Lighthouse Writers Workshop’s 2025 Lit Fest will be held from June 6 to June 13 online and at the Lighthouse Writers Workshop headquarters in Denver. The festival features weekend and weeklong workshops, craft seminars, salons, business panels, and agent consultations for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poets Eduardo C. Corral and Solmaz Sharif; fiction writers Steve Almond, Mat Johnson, Katie Kitamura, Elizabeth McCracken, Helen Phillips, Douglas Stuart, and Tony Tulathimutte; and creative nonfiction writers Ingrid Rojas Contreras, Claire Dederer, Alex Marzano-Lesnevitch, and Eileen Myles. Tuition is $1,450 ($1,350 for members) for a weeklong workshop and $1,000 ($900 for members) for a weekend workshop. Financial aid is available, as well as fellowships that cover full workshop tuition for emerging writers in each genre and two fellowships that cover tuition for writers with a disability. Lodging is available at nearby hotels for a discounted rate. To apply, submit three to five poems of any length or 15 to 20 pages of prose and a cover letter with a $30 application fee by the priority deadline of March 8; applications received after March 8 will be considered on a rolling basis. A statement explaining how you would benefit from a fellowship as well as your financial circumstances must also be submitted to apply for financial aid.
