The Rockvale Writers’ Colony offers one- to three-day retreats and one- to four-week residencies between January and October to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators on 65 acres of farmland in College Grove, Tennessee, approximately 35 miles south of Nashville. Residents are provided with a private room, bathroom, and writing desk, as well as access to a shared farmhouse kitchen, dining room, library, and outdoor swimming pool. The property also features common areas, including porches, gardens, and hiking trails. Lodging in farmhouse and cabin rooms is $425 per week or $475 for a larger room in the Ogilvie Granary. To apply, submit five pages of poetry or prose, a brief bio, and a project description with a $30 application fee. Following these guidelines, translators may submit a writing sample of poetry or prose in English; the matching selection in the original language is not required. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Visit the website for an application form and complete guidelines.
