The eighth annual Taos Writers Conference was held from July 19 to July 21 at Society of the Muse of the Southwest, a literary organization in Taos, New Mexico. The conference featured workshops for poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and writers working in hybrid genres, as well as intensive critique sessions, faculty readings, and roundtable discussions with agents and editors. The faculty included poets Tommy Archuleta, Lauren Camp, Veronica Golos, Valerie Martínez, Sawnie Morris, Susannah W. Simpson, and Catherine Strisik; fiction and nonfiction writers Johnny D. Boggs, Julia Goldberg, Minrose Gwin, Susan Mihalic, James Reich, Jean-Marie Saporito, and Sharon Oard Warner; and memoirists Allegra Huston and Connie Josefs. Poet Allison Hedge Coke delivered the keynote address. Participating publishing professionals included agent Leticia Gomez (Savvy Literary Services). The full cost of the conference was $499 with registration by June 17 and $569 with registration between June 18 and July 11. Weekend workshops were $335 before June 17 and $385 thereafter. Friday intensives were $175 before June 17 and $199 thereafter. There was no registration fee. Visit the website for more information.
