The Tulsa NightWriters Craft of Writing Conference was held on October 19 and October 20 at Oklahoma State University’s Center for Poets and Writers in Tulsa. The conference featured panel discussions, presentations on the craft and business of writing, breakout sessions, and pitch sessions for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers. The 2024 theme was “The Power of Storytelling.” Participating writers included poets Anthony Brinkley and Phetote Mshairi; fiction writers JD Colbert and Samantha Ryan; fiction and nonfiction writer Merle Davenport; and nonfiction writers Alton Carter, Julie Pearson-Little Thunder, and Heather Nuttall Westover. Participating publishing professionals included editors Lara Bernhardt (Admission Press), Jeanne Devlin (RoadRunner Press), Twyla Beth Lambert (Fawkes Press), and Lisa Lindsey (Roan & Weatherford). The cost of the conference was $100 for Tulsa NightWriters members and $140 for nonmembers. Single-day passes were available for $55 for members and $75 for nonmembers.
