The 47th annual American Literary Translators Association Conference was held from October 25 to October 28 at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee Hotel in Milwaukee. Programming included panels, workshops, bilingual readings, a bookfair, a gathering of the BIPOC Literary Translators Caucus, and opportunities to connect with editors and translators. The conference also featured special events including an awards ceremony and reading at Woodlawn Pattern, a nonprofit gallery, book center, and performance space. The 2024 theme was “Voices in Translation.” Poet and translator Kaiama Glover delivered the keynote address. The cost of the conference was $325 for non-ALTA members and $225 for ALTA members for registration by September 9; $350 and $250, respectively, for registration by October 7; and $400 and $300, respectively, for on-site registration. One-day passes were available for $150 by October 7 and $175 on-site. Some events were free and open to the public.
