After 14 years as executive director of the National Book Foundation, Neil Baldwin recently announced his resignation. He will leave his position after this year's National Book Awards ceremony on November 19.

A committee formed by the nonprofit foundation is in the process of finding Baldwin's successor.

Baldwin, who says he is extremely proud of the work he has done with the foundation, plans on taking time off to finish his book The American Revelation: Ten Ideals That Shaped Our Country, due out from St. Martin's Press next year.
