The BAU Institute offers a four-week residency from July 22 to August 19 to poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers at the Camargo Foundation in Cassis, France, a commune on the Mediterranean coast approximately 30 minutes from Marseille. Midcareer writers who have been working independently for over 10 years are eligible. Residents are provided with a private apartment and access to the Camargo campus, including a reference library, gardens, and a Greek theater. Two travel grants of $1,500 each are available. To apply, submit three to six poems or up to two stories or essays or an excerpt of a fiction or nonfiction manuscript totaling no more than 10 pages, a résumé, a letter of intent, and contact information for two references with a $45 application fee by February 28.
