The 2025 Bread Loaf Environmental Writers’ Conference will be held from June 15 to June 21 in the Green Mountains of Ripton, Vermont. The conference, designed for poets and prose writers whose work deals with the environment and the natural world, features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as lectures; craft classes; meetings with editors, agents, and publishers; and readings by faculty and guests. The faculty includes poets Tarfia Faizullah, John Murillo, and Nicole Sealey; fiction writers Lydia Millet and Luis Alberto Urrea; and creative nonfiction writers Jennifer Ackerman, Nathaniel Rich, and Abe Streep. Participating publishing professionals include editors Naomi Gibbs (Pantheon Books), Joey McGarvey (Spiegel & Grau), Leslie Sainz (New England Review), and Matt Weiland (Norton) and agent Paul Lucas (Janklow & Nesbit). Tuition is $2,830, which includes lodging and meals. The fee for auditors who do not have a manuscript is $2,450. Financial aid is available. To apply, submit up to eight pages of poetry or no more than 4,000 words of prose with a $20 application fee by February 1. Space is limited; admissions are made on a rolling basis.
