Last month the Finnish publishing company Tammi released a 332-page novel consisting entirely of cellular phone text messages. Hannu Luntiala's The Last Messages, which is comprised of approximately one thousand text messages, tells the story of a man who quits his job at an information technology company in Finland and travels throughout Europe and India, keeping in touch with friends and family using only his cell phone.

The text of the novel is rife with grammatical errors and abbreviations—an accurate depiction of text messaging. "I believe that, at the end of the day, a text message may reveal much more about a person than you would initially think," Luntiala recently told the Associated Press. A Tammi spokesperson says the company is considering translating the book into other languages.
