Sid Farrar, the former executive director of the Minneapolis nonprofit literary press Milkweed Editions, was recently named publisher of Copper Canyon Press, the nonprofit poetry publisher based in Port Townsend, Washington.
Farrar succeeds Emily Warn, who was hired as Acting Publisher in June 2002 when Thatcher Bailey left the press.
Founded in 1972, Copper Canyon Press has published more than 250 titles, including books by Nobel laureates Pablo Neruda, Octavio Paz, and Czeslaw Milosz; Pulitzer Prize-winners Carolyn Kizer, Maxine Kumin, and W.S. Merwin; National Book Award winners Hayden Carruth and Lucille Clifton; and other well-known poets such as Jim Harrison, C.D. Wright, and Norman Dubie.
