It's a small, slow world: Nearly two years after Jennifer Barth left her job as editor in chief of Henry Holt to work at HarperCollins, where she is now an executive editor, Holt president Dan Farley has finally named her successor. Marjorie Braman is leaving her job as executive editor at HarperCollins to become the new editor in chief of Henry Holt.
"I hope to bring to Henry Holt, where there is a long and successful tradition of publishing serious nonfiction, a sensibility for the kind of fiction that readers find so appealing today, in addition to my own huge enthusiasm for narrative nonfiction," Braman said in a statement. At HarperCollins, Braman edited such well-known authors as Michael Crichton, Elmore Leonard, and T. Jefferson Parker. She begins her new job on September 8.
