The 2024 Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference was held from May 18 to May 21 at the Kenai Peninsula College campus in Homer, Alaska, with views of the snowcapped mountain ranges across Kachemak Bay. The conference featured craft classes, as well as craft conversations, readings, panels, and individual consultations for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The faculty included poets Jennifer Elise Foerster, Sean Hill, and Emily Wall; fiction writers Destiny O. Birdsong, David Nikki Crouse, and Debra Magpie Earling; and nonfiction writers Nuar Alsadir, David George Haskell, and Priyanka Kumar. Participating publishing professionals included editor Ethan Nosowsky (Graywolf Press) and agent Hafizah Augustus Geter (Janklow & Nesbit). The theme of this year’s conference was “Wonder in the Wounded World.” The cost of tuition was $425 with registration by May 2 and $475 with registration between May 3 and May 18.
