The 2024 Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference was held from August 1 to August 3 on the Mendocino Coast in California. The conference featured workshops for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers, as well as craft seminars, panels, one-on-one manuscript consultations, and open mics. The faculty included poet Douglas Manuel; poet and nonfiction writer Jane Wong; fiction writers Nic Anstett, Francesca Lia Block, Kate Folk, Gene Kwak, and Lio Min; fiction and nonfiction writer Henry Hoke; and nonfiction writers Jessica Ferri and Angela Garbes. Fiction writer Rachel Kushner delivered the keynote address. Participating publishing professionals included agent Sarah Bowlin (Aevitas Creative Management) and editor Alyssa Ogi (Tin House). The registration fee was $875 and included morning workshops, all afternoon events, and breakfast and lunch each day. One-on-one manuscript consultations were available for an additional $60. Lodging was available at a wide range of accommodations on the Mendocino Coast, including oceanfront inns, campgrounds, glamping facilities, and motels. The registration deadline was June 30.
