Yesterday, less than three months after a round of layoffs at Publishers Weekly that resulted in the departure of editor Sara Nelson, the industry trade magazine's parent company, Reed Business Information, laid off three more editors. They are managing editor Robin Lenz, who had been at the magazine for more than twenty years; poetry review editor and tech writer Craig Morgan Teicher; and senior editor Dermot McEvoy, who managed the e-mail newsletter PW Daily.

In 2007 Teicher, who also worked on Publishers Weekly's Web site, wrote two profiles, including one of Bin Ramke, for Poets & Writers Magazine.

Yesterday's cutbacks were part of a 7-percent downsizing at Reed, which also owns Variety. Fifteen positions were eliminated at the movie industry trade magazine earlier this week.

The industry newsletter Shelf Awareness quoted a message from Reed CEO Tad Smith in which he held open the possibility that more cutbacks were to come. "We continue to look at our staffing needs and may need to make additional reductions to fit the business conditions," he wrote.
