The program offers partial funding through scholarships and graduate assistantships.
In addition to genre tracks in poetry, fiction, popular fiction, and creative nonfiction, Stonecoast’s students are encouraged to work in multiple and hybrid genres.
Stonecoast’s Writing for Inclusivity and Social Equity (WISE) Initiative addresses a range of issues, including the effects of systemic racism, the responsibility of literary citizenship, and the effects of climate change.
Students attend two ten-day residencies each year, in January and late June, on the coast of Maine. The deadlines are September 1 and March 1.
