Funding/Employment Opportunities: 

The program offers full funding. Nearly all students receive teaching assistantships, which includes a full tuition waiver and annual stipend of $16,000. Graduate fellowships and annual fellowships, including several Walton Fellowships of $17,000 and several Lily Peter Fellowships of $1,000 or greater, are also available.

The program also hosts the Distinguished Readers Series and the Walton Visiting Writers series, through which students get the chance to meet and work with guest writers each year. Other features include opportunities to join the staff of the Arkansas International, teach creative writing workshops to schoolchildren throughout Arkansas as part of the Writers-in-the-Schools program, and read their work at local events and festivals.
