The program offers full funding. All current full-time MFA students are provided graduate teaching assistantships, which includes a full tuition waiver and annual stipends ranging from $14,500-$27,000 for all three years of the program.
The program does not fund (but does accept) part-time students and occasionally places some select full-time applicants on a funding waitlist.
The program hosts a visiting writing series. Other features include opportunities to coordinate the Cabell First Novelist Award, the Larry Levis Reading Prize, and the Rebecca Mitchell Tarumoto Short Fiction Prize; and stipends to travel or attend literary conferences.
