The 39th annual Write on the Sound conference was held in person at the Frances Anderson Center in Edmonds, Washington, from October 4 to October 6; online preconference sessions were held on September 28. The conference featured craft sessions, workshops, a writing contest, and information sessions on publishing and marketing for fiction and nonfiction writers. The faculty included fiction writers Lauren Davis, John DeDakis, Anne Elliott, and Eric Witchey; fiction and nonfiction writers Peter Mountford and Lindsay Wong; and nonfiction writer Jennifer Leigh Selig. Participating publishing professionals include editors Jenny Bartoy (Creative Colloquy), Pamela Sheppard (Sheppard Editorial Services), and James Wallace (Master of the Story). Fiction writer Jamie Harrison delivered the keynote address. The cost of programming on Saturday or Sunday was $140. The cost of the online preconference sessions was $125; Friday half-day workshops cost $95 each, and registration for in-person Saturday and Sunday sessions cost $224.
