Author's Bio

Adrienne Ross Scanlan is the author of Turning Homeward – Restoring Hope and Nature in the Urban Wild (2017 Washington State Book Award Finalist, Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Award 2016 Notable Book, and Nautilus Book Awards 2016-2017 Silver Medal). Her creative nonfiction has appeared in City CreaturesBluestem, the For Love of Orcas anthology, The Fourth RiverLabLit: The Culture of Science in Fiction & Fact, HevriaSugar MuleUnder the SunPilgrimage, and many other print or other online magazines, while her fiction has appeared in Press Pause PressShark Reef and Cirque.  She is a reviewer for the New York Journal of Books with a special interest in nature, science, and environmental writing, and she was the nonfiction editor for the Blue Lyra Review. A member of The Editorial Freelancers Association and the NW Editors Guild, Adrienne provides developmental and substantive editing for independent authors, from novice to professionals, and publishing houses.
