Author's Bio

Akili Amina lives in Charlotte, NC with Del, her partner of 30 years. She is a mother of two and a grandmother, who are all girls. Her work can be found in anthologies, online publications, and literary magazines. She is a person with mental disabilities who seeks to fulfill her dreams of being an author and poet despite her frailties. She has an MA in Creative Writing with a concentration in Poetry from Southern New Hampshire University and is currently attending the University of Pennsylvania in hopes of obtaining an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing.
