Author's Bio

Allison Gruber is an essayist and educator whose debut collection of essays, You're Not Edith (George Braziller, 2015) was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award and received praise from Booklist, Publishers Weekly, and NewPages among others. Her work has appeared in a variety of in-print and online journals including Pithead Chapel, The Literary Review, and Gravel, and onstage in Chicago and Milwaukee. Her essays have been nominated for Pushcarts, Best of the Net, and received a notable mention in Best New American Nonfiction (2015). A Chicago native, she currently lives and teaches in Flagstaff, Arizona.
