Author's Bio

I live in southwest Nova Scotia, Canada, a region which has deeply influenced my personal history in almost every aspect. I spent my working life as a senior high teacher, and still substitute-teach even in retirement. While most of my poems are intended for adult readers, I've also been inspired by a succession of memorable young people to write about issues that concern them. I especially enjoy doing poetry workshops for and with teenagers. I have presented adult workshops in my local area and - true to my drama-teacher persona - I'm always delighted to give readings.
