Author's Bio

Growing up in Oklahoma, I was devoted to the equestrian sport of show jumping. I put that behind me after high school. After living in Turkey and in France, I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Grinnell College. I earned an MA in art history from the University of Michigan. At the same school, I also fulfilled all of the requirements for a PhD in art history except one: I did not write a dissertation. My interest in writing fiction greatly exceeded my interest in writing a scholarly study. My husband and I lived for a long time in Saudi Arabia where he taught urban planning. We then lived in Arlington, Virginia, before moving to the Pacific Northwest. Learning to write fiction, in so far as I have, was a slow process. It has eventuated, so far, in a novel, Hands and Straight Lines, to be published by Tailwinds Press in December, 2023.
