Author's Bio

Carolynn Kingyens was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. 

Her poems have been featured in Boxcar Poetry Journal, Schuylkill Valley Journal, The Potomac, Haggard & Halloo, The Orange Room Review, Red Eft Review, Across the Margin, Tuck Magazine, Word Riot, Eunoia Review, Glass: Journal of Poetry, One Art, and The Five-Two Literary Review.

In addition to poetry, Kingyens writes published essays/articles, book/film reviews, and short fiction.

Today, Carolynn lives in New York with her husband and two beautiful, kind, and creative daughters.

Her short stories "Bye-Bye, Miss American Pie" and "The Invitation" were selected by Across the Margin, a Brooklyn arts & culture webzine, for their Best of Fiction 2021 and 2023 list, respectively.

She has recently published two articles with YourTango, a large, women-led NYC publisher, entitled "How Creative Resilience Saved Me From Childhood Trauma" and "There's A Tiffany In Every Dysfunctional Family," about the youngest sister of David and Amy Sedaris; familial scapegoating and generational trauma.
