Cassandra Troyan is an artist and writer who investigates the supposedly hidden structures of our desires by rendering visible the daily ways we make meaning in the world, and find ourselves in relation to others.
After graduating from The Ohio State University with her BA, she completed her MFA at The University of Chicago in 2012, where she currently resides. She is the author of THRONE OF BLOOD (Solar Luxuriance 2013) and forthcoming from Tiny Hardcore Press, BLACKEN ME BLACKEN ME, GROWLED. She has exhibited or screened her work nationally and internationally, at the Athens International Film Festival, Athens, OH; One Minute Film Festival, Narrowsburg, NY; Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito, CA; FASAD in Malmö, Sweden; Modern Art Oxford, UK; MASS MoCA, North Adams MA; Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, Berlin, Germany; PLUG Projects, Kansas City, MO; MK Gallery, Milton Keynes, UK; Siena Art Institute, Siena, Italy; the SMART Museum of Art, Chicago, IL and the Logan Center for the Arts, Chicago, IL.
