Author's Bio

Crystal S. Gibbins grew up on the islands of Lake of the Woods, Minnesota/Ontario. She is the editor and founder of Split Rock Review, co-editor of Waters Deep: A Great Lakes Poetry Anthology, and author of the full-length poetry collection NOW/HERE (Holy Cow! Press) and two poetry chapbooks. Her work has been featured widely in literary journals, such as Arc Poetry Magazine, Cincinnati Review, Hayden's Ferry Review, Minnesota Review, Prairie Schooner, Verse Daily, and The Writer's Almanac. Crystal holds a PhD in English with concentrations in Creative Writing, 20th and 21st Century American Poetry, and Environmental Literature from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has taught creative writing, literature, and composition for nearly 15 years at various universities and colleges across the Midwest, such as Minnesota State University-Moorhead, Winona State University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and University of Minnesota-Duluth. Crystal lives on the south shore of Lake Superior in Wisconsin.
