Author's Bio

I am a retired engineer and a poet who came to a craft through an interest in music and song lyrics.

I grew up in Moline, Illinois and was trained in engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Wisconsin.  I came to Detroit in 1986 to work in the automotive industry, first at General Motors, later at Ford.  I was a technical expert in machining operations and worked primarily in R&D and production engineering.  I retired from engineering in 2022.

I started writing poetry as a teenager and never stopped.  Because of my interest in music I write in meter and frequently with rhyme.  I also edit a journal for musical poetry, Pulsebeat Poetry Journal.

I live in Detroit with my wife, the chemist Maria Clelia Milletti.
