Author's Bio

Dawn Leas is the author of A Person Worth Knowing (FootHills Publishing 2021), Take Something When You Go, (Winter Goose Publishing 2016), and I Know When to Keep Quiet, (Finishing Line Press, 2010). Her poems have appeared in Literary Mama, San Pedro River Review, SWWIM, SoFloPo, Wild Roof Journal, Anti-Heroine Chic, The Pedestal Magazine,and elsewhere. Her work won an honorable mention in the 2005 Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Prize and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. In past lives she's been a copywriter, English teacher, admissions director, and stay-at-home mom. Currently, she is a writing coach, manuscript editor, teaching artist, and the assistant director of the Wilkes Univeristy graduate creative writing program.
