Elaine is a writer and educator from London, currently residing in nipaluna (Hobart), Tasmania. She writes full-time for a living as a digital content creator and dabbles in short fiction on the side (although she is due to publish her first illustrated children's book later this year and is keen to work on a full book of short adult fiction one day).
Her preferred literary medium is flash and micro fiction, and her work has been published by many reputable publishers of the genre, including Bath Flash Fiction, Reflex Press, Entropy Magazine, Every Day Fiction, Brilliant Flash Fiction and more.
She has been longlisted for both the Bath Flash Fiction (2020) and Reflex Press (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021) Quarterly Flash Fiction prizes, awarded Third Place in the Writers HQ Flash Fiction Contest (2019), and Highly Commended in the National Flash Fiction Day Flash Fiction Competition (2019). Her short stories have been longlisted for the Sydney Hammond Memorial Short Story Competition (2021) and shortlisted for the Rachel Funari Prize for Fiction (2022).
Her non-fiction and essay writing spans a range of genres, most commonly around themes of personal development, positive psychology, health and wellness, and what it means to find our authentic selves in a chaotic world. Her work has been published in WILD Wellbeing Magazine, Darling Magazine, Live Better Magazine, and Forty South Magazine, amongst others.
Elaine also writes reviews and interviews authors for different publications. She is currently the in-house reviewer for Aniko Press, an indie publisher based on Gadigal land (Sydney), where she also coordinates their Emerging Writers Interview Series. Find more at: www.anikopress.com.au
