Author's Bio

Elizabeth Cleary (Eli) is an American poet living in Hamden, Connecticut. Her work is often inspired when hiking the trails of West Rock ridge or enjoying quiet time in her pollinator gardens - always accompanied by her dog, Riley. She co-founded The Poetry Institute in New Haven, Connecticut and served on the editorial board of Maine's Off the Coast poetry journal.

Her work has appeared in numerous anthologies and journals and she was honored when Indiana's Tipton Poetry Journal nominated her poem, “Battlecry of a Dying Barn,” for a 2010 Pushcart Prize.

Whether reflecting on global events or the natural world around us, Elizabeth's poems highlight a sense of shared humanity and compassion.
