Author's Bio

I am the author of over sixty works of fiction for children and adults. My memoir, DAUGHTER OF SPIES: Wartime Secrets, Family Lies is out with Regal House. My other books include DON'T KNOCK UNLESS YOU'RE BLEEDING: A Memoir Essay, ISLAND JUSTICE, IN MY MOTHER'S HOUSE, THE CASTLE IN THE ATTIC and COUNTING ON GRACE as well as picture books for young children including among many others, MAIA AND THE MONSTER BABY, DUMPY LA RUE, SHOES and SQUASHED IN THE MIDDLE. I have taught at writer's conferences around the country and my novels for children have been nominated for over 30 state book awards. I live in New York and the Berkshires in Massachusetts.
