Emma Goldman-Sherman's plays have been produced on 4 continents w/podcasts available at TheParsnipShip.com, PlayingOnAir.org & elsewhere. Their poetry has been published or is forthcoming in Toyon, Gigantic Sequins, Anti-Heroin Chic, Mersey Review, Wild Greens, & others. Their first flash fiction won 3rd prize in the 2023 Fish Anthology and other flash has been nominated for Best MicroFiction 2024. They've received residencies at the Millay Colony, Ragdale & twice at WordBridge where they have also worked as a dramaturg. They earned an MFA from the University of Iowa where they received the Jane Chambers Award, 3 Norman Felton Awards, and the Richard Maibaum Fellowship for plays addressing social justice. Their plays are published by Applause, Brooklyn Publishers, Next Stage, and Smith & Kraus. Their plays have been seen in NYC at the Park Ave Armory, NY Theatre Barn, as part of the WP Playwrights Lab, on Theatre Row and at The Culture Project, The Tank, Dixon Place, New Circle, and many other venues. Emma has received commissions from OSF for the 28 Hour Plays and Experimental Bitch as a playwright-in-residence. Their plays have been named finalists at BAPF, Henley Rose, Bridge Initiative, Campfire, Unicorn (3x), Waterworks, and Cutting Ball (3x). Emma received several grants from LMCC and a Puffin for their work developing and producing new plays with 29StPWC.
