Erika Walsh

I am a poet, writer, creative writing instructor, and co-founder and editor of A VELVET GIANT, an online genreless literary journal. My work explores themes related to the body and what it remembers, as well as what it recreates and re-remembers in order to survive and transform. I live in NY, NY, where I work for two nonprofits, teaching creative writing workshops to 5-10 year olds and instructing an after-school newspaper club for high school students. I also work as a Development & Marketing intern at Poets & Writers. My work has been published in numerous literary journals, most recently Voicemail Poems, as well as Hotel Amerika, Tinderbox Poetry Journal, Hobart, Peach Mag, Dream Pop, and elsewhere. I was selected as a semi-finalist in the 2017 Button Poetry Chapbook Contest and my work has been nominated for a Pushcart.
