Author's Bio

Gabriel Awuah Mainoo is a Ghanaian creative practitioner. He won the 2022 Singapore Poetry Prize, 2021 Africa Haiku Prize, LFP/ RML/ Library of Africa and the African Diaspora chapbook prize, the 6th Ghana Association of Writers Literary Awards for his poetry book (Lyrical Textiles, Illuminated Press, New York) and others. Mainoo was awarded the 2022 Samira Bawumia Literature Prize (Poetry), the 2022 West Africa Writers Residency, the 2023 Transatlantic Relative Residency, a 2024 International-Writer-In-Residence at Hong Kong Baptist University and a 2024 Fellow at Aarhus Literature Center, Denmark. His books include "Hvor end havet skyller dig op"  2024, (Forlaget Silkerfyret, Denmark), Travellers Gather Dust and Lust, (Mwanaka Media and Publishing, Zimbabwe), ‘‘We are Moulting Birds’’, (Light Factory Publication, Canada), ‘‘Lyrical Textiles’’ (Illuminated Press, US) & ‘‘Sea Ballet’’, forthcoming. Mainoo edits poetry for Goat Shed Press, (UK) & Journal of African Youth Literature. His craft can be found in The London Reader, FIYAH, The Woodward Review, Wales Haiku Journal, EVENT, Prairie Fire, The Michigan Quarterly Review, Best New African Poets Anthologies (2018, 2019, 2020), Old Love Skin & others. He's a tennis junkie in the morning, a student in the afternoon, & a writer in the evening.
