Author's Bio

I have a major in creative writing and plan to complete a MFA program in poetry. I interned two years under Dr. Jimmy Santiago Baca, which included performing poetry readings at several national conferences, book fairs, poetry festivals, universities, and conducting writing workshops at High schools and prisons. After two years of instruction, he submitted my first poetry manuscript to Dr. Miguel Algarin, Professor Emeritus at Rutgers University, and founder of the renowned Nuyorican Poets Café in New York City. The Nuyorican Press published my first book, Heart River Undertow, June, 2008. The introduction is written by Dr. Baca, and the after word by Dr. Algarin. My poetry is about social justice, prejudice, and self-actualization. My next book is a long poem about fear.
