Author's Bio

Jacqueline Zalace is a poet based in Austin, Texas, where they live with their partner and cat named Evie. Jacqueline’s poetry tends to center around the uncomfortable and abandoned. They don’t shy away from gruesome details and love to paint a picture, placing readers directly in the scene. Jacqueline graduated from Florida State University with a dual degree in creative writing and anthropology. This love of anthropology and human culture has often made its way into poems, with culture and religion serving as a key backdrop.

In 2024, Jacqueline published their first chapbook titled Snow Angels. This is a collection of poems that follow the experience of struggling people at the end of the world. While the poems work together as one, they all reflect individuals going through either mental of physical hardships.

Aside from writing poetry, Jacqueline writes about and plays video games. A few favorites that really showcase the power of writing in gaming include Disco Elysium, Arise: A Simple Story, The Zero Escape Trilogy, and the Life is Strange series. Each of these games involve amazing stories that inspire Jacqueline to create.
