Author's Bio

 

James Breeden is the author of three novels including the award-winning Painting Angela, published by the North American Review Press. His stories and poems have appeared in The Apalachee Review, the Broad River Review, Crime Factory, The Pisgah Review, The Main Street Rag, the Piedmont Literary Review, Thrift Poetic Arts, The Xavier Review, several anthologies, and a dozen other literary journals.

            His fiction has been a finalist in the Ron Rash Fiction Award, Doris Betts Fiction Prize and the Dana Awards.

            Mr. Breeden is a member of the North Carolina Writers’ Network and the national and local Sisters-in-Crime. He's a graduate of the University of New Orleans and lives and works in Durham, NC.
