Author's Bio

Jim Peterson has published four full-length collections of poetry—The Man Who Grew Silent (The Bench Press 1989), An Afternoon With K (Holocene Press 1996), The Owning Stone (Red Hen Press 2000, 2012), and the Bob and Weave (Red Hen Press 2006)—and three chapbooks: Carvings On a Prayer Tree (Holocene 1994), Greatest Hits 1984-2000 (Pudding House 2000, 2003), and The Resolution of Eve (Finishing Line Press 2011). His novel, Paper Crown, was published in 2005 by Red Hen. His poems have appeared in such journals as Poetry, Georgia Review, Shenandoah, Poetry Northwest, Cave Wall, South Dakota Review, Southern Poetry Review, etc. He is on the faculty of the University of Nebraska MFA Program in Creative Writing, and he is Coordinator of Creative Writing/Writer in Residence at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Virginia where he lives with his wife Harriet and their charismatic Welsh Corgi, Mamakilya.
