J.T. Bushnell grew up with three brothers in Sisters, Oregon, and San Luis Obispo, California. He teaches at Oregon State University in Corvallis and lives in Eugene with his wife and two daughters.
His essays on writing and craft have appeared in Poets & Writers magazine and elsewhere. His short fiction has been published in Passages North, Iron Horse, Mississippi Review, and many other journals. The Step Back is his debut novel.
