Author's Bio

I worked as a newspaper reporter for 21 years, including 13 years at The Dallas Morning News. My first book, Probably Someday Cancer: Genetic Risk and Preventative Mastectomy (University of North Texas Press, 2019), is about how and why I decided to have a double mastectomy to reduce my very high risk of breast cancer due to a BRCA2 mutation.

I earned an MFA in creative writing from The University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2022.
