Author's Bio

Kris Bigalk is a poet and writing professor. Her poetry collection Repeat the Flesh in Numbers, was published by NYQ Books 2012, her poems appear in the anthologies Down the Dark River, The Liberal Media Made Me Do It, Poetry City, USA Volumes 2 and 3 and Open to Interpretation: Water's Edge, as well as many magazines, including Paper Nautilus, Silk Road, The Water~Stone Review, The Blue Earth Review, the cream city review, Pif, and The Foundling Review. She has won two Minnesota State Arts Board Grants in Poetry, and has been a poetry contributor at Bread Loaf Writers' Conference and Sewannee Writers' Conference.

Kris Bigalk also serves as Director of Creative Writing at Normandale Community College, where she designed and now coordinates their groundbreaking AFA in Creative Writing program. She has been the keynote speaker for several conferences and groups, on the topics of writing poetry, creative writing pedagogy, and designing effective writing programs.
