Author's Bio

Laura Grace Weldon primarily writes creative nonfiction and poetry. She is the editor of the journal Braided Way. She was 2019 Ohio Poet of the Year and has published the poetry collections Portals (Middle Creek, 2021) Blackbird (Grayson Books, 2019) and Tending (Aldrich Press, 2013) as well as a handbook of alternative education, Free Range Learning (Hohm Press, 2010). Her background includes leading nonviolence workshops, writing poetry with nursing home residents, facilitating support groups for abuse survivors, and writing sardonic greeting cards. She works as a book editor, teaches writing, and maxes out her library card each week.
